The Makeup Show is back for its 8th year in Los Angeles on March 19th & 20th. If you’re not familiar with this awesome event, “The Makeup Show is the largest pro-only makeup event in the United States.” It’s two full days dedicated to makeup artistry, networking, inspiration and my personal favorite, makeup education.
There will be hands-on workshops, tons of keynotes and discussions, and exhibiting brand discounts. Yes – discounts! Most of the vendors offer special show-only or pro-only discounts. I’m trying to make my shopping list, but it’s hard limiting my list to only a handful of exhibitors. =)
The LA show also concludes the celebration of The Makeup Show’s 10 year anniversary with a special Gala soiree. The Makeup Show began in 2005 in New York and has since grown to 5 cities [LA, NYC, Dallas, Chicago & Orlando], with several smaller ‘pop-up’ versions of the Show in various other cities [Atlanta this year and San Francisco last].
The Makeup Show Gala will be held Friday, March 18th at the historic Millennium Biltmore Hotel, the site of the first Academy Awards ceremony. Guests will join to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of The Makeup Show and honor iconic women in the makeup industry. The theme of the event is one I love, old Hollywood glamour, and you can find out more or purchase tickets on themakeupshow.com.
The Makeup Show is one weekend I look forward to every year. If you’re a makeup artist, makeup student or beauty professional, you cannot miss this event! I have met several of my favorite makeup artists during past Shows, including Ve Neill and James Vincent.
You can buy your tickets online or at the door during the Show. Definitely buy in advance! One day tickets are $50 in advance or $62 at the door.
