Last week I attended the fabulous The Makeup Show Los Angeles on Saturday. The Show was 2 days, but I unfortunately was only able to attend Saturday. Major bummer, but I was able to see so much in that one day.
If you’re a beauty professional – whether you’re just starting or have been doing it for years – The Makeup Show is an amazing event for all levels of pros. Besides the awesome discounts most brands offer, there is so much free education, you almost can’t afford to miss it. There are keynotes and seminars all day, plus paid hands-on education if you want to sign up.
Here’s a sample of the seminars on Saturday. To check out the full list, visit www.themakeupshow.com.
My first official stop was the blogger preview event, which is a way to introduce bloggers to The Makeup Show and the many brands exhibiting. It’s always entertaining to watch James Vincent – whether he’s creating a makeup look or chatting about a product, he is NEVER boring.
From there, I partnered with beauty blogger Ahleessa4realz and jetted to Kat Von D. Everything was 40% off (yes, seriously), but the line was so long and I wanted to make sure I visited as many booths as I could, so we skipped out and stopped by Color Me, plus met up with bloggers from Avenu50.com and ModernChicMag.com.
Color Me is a battery-operated foundation and powder applicator that buffs makeup into your skin using 250 sonic taps per second. We got to chat with founder Eric Jimenez on his invention and vision. I’m very excited about trying this out! I love my foundation and buffing brushes, but if this gives my foundation an airbrush finish, who knows if I’ll go back. =P
We also stopped by Urban Decay because WE HAD TO! UD is one of my all-time favorite makeup brands, and I was eager to check out their new products. I picked up one of their new Color Correcting Fluids in Peach. I’ve yet to try it, but I’ll be giving it a test this weekend.
During my visit to CAO Cosmetics, which is a new to me brand, I entered their giveaway for a bridal makeup case with lights. I WON! Holy crap! I’ll be visiting the CAO Cosmetics office in April to pick up my kit, and hopefully I’ll have more pics and reviews of their line.
After CAO Cosmetics, I pranced around the Show checking out booths from Make Up For Ever, Besame Cosmetics, Cinema Secrets, MustaeV, Inglot, Sephora, Crown Brush and way too many more to list.
The Makeup Show LA was another fun event, and something I look forward to every year. If you haven’t, definitely check out this Show. It’s country-wide!
Below are more pics from the Show. Enjoy!

The Brush Bar – this travel tool is sweet. It holds your makeup brushes to dry, so you can take it with you on set or use it at home.
