StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner Review

Strivectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner Review |

Besides fine lines and dark marks (aging is fun!), I’m constantly looking for ways to improve the appearance of my pores. The pores on my nose and inner cheeks are huge. I wasn’t very careful when I was younger – picking, popping, stretching – and I am paying the price today. But now I have StriVectin Advanced Retinol Retinol Pore Refiner and have been pretty delighted with my skin’s improvement the last few weeks.

StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner is an anti-aging lotion that helps to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores on your skin and can also refine skin’s texture for a smoother complexion.

The Retinol (a type of vitamin A) minimizes the appearance of pores and helps to improve the appearance of fine lines. StriVectin’s patented NIA-114™ technology (the heart of all StriVectin skincare products and a form of Vitamin B3) helps to hydrate skin, fight age, optimize the absorption of ingredients, and limit the sensitivity some may have to Retinol use. Retinol is an important ingredient to add to your anti-aging skin regimen, but some faces may be sensitive to it. Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner contains a lower percentage of Retinol, and their added NIA-114™ technology helps address the sensitivity issue.

StriVectin Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner is very lightweight and non-sticky, and this should be applied after all of your day or night skincare regimen products, including sunscreen. I have very oily skin and this helps to mattify my skin extremely well, almost too well. If you have dry skin, you’re going to need a very hydrating moisturizer before Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner, if you are not already using one.

Even though this isn’t a primer, I have stopped using my face primer on many days because this keeps my skin matte, helps control oil production and helps my makeup apply and adhere to my skin perfectly. After just the first  2 weeks, I noticed my pores appeared visibly smaller.

After 6 weeks, the large pores on my trouble spots – nose and parts of my cheeks closest to my nose – now appear about half the size of what they used to be. Half the size! I’m ecstatic with how much this product has reduced the appearance of my pores AND has helped with my oily skin.

As for irritation or sensitivity, I only had issues with my chin area flaking slightly. I wasn’t using a moisturizer that was hydrating enough because of my oily skin, so I changed my moisturizer. That seems to have solved the problem and I’ve had no other issues since then.

At $99 per 1.7 oz bottle, it is on the pricey side, but Advanced Retinol Pore Refiner also comes with results for my skin. I’ve tried countless products and have spent much more than $99 total for “water in a tube,” so I’m happy to spend a little more on one product that actually does what it claims.
