It’s sample Wednesday! Today’s sample I received at Generation Beauty earlier this year: Laneige BB Cushion.
Laneige is a Korean brand that is now sold in Target stores. BB Cushion is a 5-in-one BB cream that helps to brighten, protect your skin, moisturize, stop shine and cover imperfections.
This sample pack contains all 3 available colors – light, medium and dark – as well as a sponge puff to apply the product. Each shade is housed in individual spongey cushions filled with product. To use, take your clean sponge puff and press it against the BB cream cushion to pick up product. I think you’re supposed to use the blue side, but I used the white side without issue.
The cushion is interesting. You can control how much you BB cream you want. If you press hard, you’ll get a lot of cream. Lightly press it and only get a little. It’s an intriguing concept that I really enjoy.
Laneige BB Cushion has fantastic coverage for a US-sold BB cream, most likely because it is a Korean brand. Asian BB creams typically have better coverage than US ones. It didn’t cover every imperfection, but it covered my discoloration and spots enough that I didn’t feel the need to spot cover.
The high SPF 50 is a real draw. And it leaves a natural finish that is neither heavy nor sticky. BB Cushion also feels very cool when applied to your face. Not tingly cool, more of a refreshing cool.
I know I keep referring to this as a “cream” product, but it’s really lightweight and more of a liquid.
I LOVE this BB cream, but unfortunately I am in between medium and dark, more toward the medium shade, so I won’t be getting the full size. I always custom blend my foundation, but mixing two cushions won’t give me the same color on every press. It’s more difficult than mixing two liquid foundations, which I pour out and mix on my palette once, then apply. With this, I would have to mix with every press of the cushion.
If they come out with a shade slightly darker than medium, I’ll be first in line to buy!
The product in the post was provided by Laneige for review purposes. My opinions in this post are my own and not affected by any press sample.
