If you live in SoCal and love makeup, PHAMExpo is THE place for you to be. If you’re familiar with IMATS and The Makeup Show, PHAMExpo is a similar concept.
This 2nd annual event was even more fabulous than the first. Although I was only able to attend one-day on Saturday, I had a full day of buying, giveaways and speakers. The entrance line wasn’t crazy long, and I didn’t feel like I was being pushed or shoved – the way I feel at overcrowded IMATS. There were plenty of vendors, presentations and goodies to keep a glittery girl (or boy) occupied from open to close.

My blogger bud Liz and I arrived around 9am and waited about 15 minutes to enter. Once there, we hit up the Lime Crime booth in *hopes* we would find their new Utopia Velvetine, but unfortunately that won’t be available until the end of July. I did pick up a gorgeous new eyeliner in Rhyme – a sparkly gold hue. While we were in line waiting, Rock Your Hair stopped by to give us a mini bottle of hairpray. SCORE!
Then we headed over to Tat2U makeup to take a look around and pick up my Instagram prize. This baby was loaded with free goods. I can’t wait to try their products, although I’m a bit bummed I forgot to head back to the booth before we left to buy some glitters.
After that I finally purchased my first MaqPro palette, and if it’s as awesome as everyone says, I’m going to purchase their foundation. Then it was off to Inglot and Cailyn Cosmetics.
Makeup Geek was at Phame featuring their products, and even though they weren’t discounted, I still picked up 5 shades to try. They were too lovely to pass up.
We took a shopping break and sat down for celebrity makeup artist Roshar’s presentation: Extreme Beauty – Exploring Different Techniques to Achieve Maximum Effect. Roshar offered tips and personal experience while making over a model in his presentation.
During lunch, Liz and I met up with YouTuber IndieGoKat, whom I was meeting for the first time. So glad we clicked!
And back we started shopping again hitting up various booths: Naime’s, Cozzette, Lady Moss and my new personal favorite, J.Cat Beauty. This is a new brand I’m about to review, so I haven’t had the full J.Cat experience yet. I’ll let you know what I think in the coming weeks.
I’m also super stoked about the Vera Mona Color Switch Duo I purchased. This allows you to switch colors on your brush easily. Rub your eyeshadow brush over the Duo, and it comes out makeup free! Yes, there are DIY ones, but I suck at DIY so I dropped $15 on this bad boy!
Before the end of the day, I got to meet Pixiwoo. I’ve only watched a few videos, but after meeting them and being able to see how genuinely sweet these ladies are, I’ve been on YouTube non-stop. Isn’t this photo remarkably cute?
Finally, I had to stay to watch Doe Deere’s presentation on Building a Cult Brand. During the talk, she really hammered the fact that you need to be yourself. If you know something is right, don’t change it because other people hate it. You are uniquely you.
PHAMExpo was freakin’ marvelous and I had a wonderful time. I can’t wait for 2015. [My haul photo is at the very bottom.]
