Due to my sister’s influence, I’m scouring the net for a fab blue lipstick. Darn her! I’ve been waiting to buy DGAF blue from Melt Cosmetics, but that shade is still sold out! So I hopped over to Walgreens to give Milani Bella Blue a try.
Milani Lip Art in Bella Blue is a limited edition blue lipstick for only $3.99. It claims to be full-coverage in one stroke and is part of a Bella Blue collection with Milani Nail Lacquer and Lash Art colored mascara.
Bella Blue Lip Art is a gorgeous shade of blue, and one that will look different on everyone. It is transparent and not opaque like Milani claims. I had to swipe several times to get a solid blue color, and even then I could still see my lips underneath. To get a really bold blue, neutralize your lips with foundation or a lip primer before applying Bella Blue. Here’s a photo with Milani Lip Art on my regular lips:
Due to the color of my natural lips, Bella Blue looked like it had a little gray and ever-so-light purple. It’s not overbearing and is quite pretty, certainly for someone who wants to rock and stand out with style.
The wear isn’t long on this Milani Lip Art, and you will have to reapply after a couple of hours to keep that blue vibrant. If you apply a neutral lipliner all over your lips and apply Bella Blue in layers, it will last much longer.
Would you rock a blue lip for either a night out or an afternoon shopping trip?
