There were rumors wandering the net that Maybelline was releasing a large palette. They have smaller 8-pan palettes available, but hearing murmurs of a large 10 or 12-pan palette definitely piqued my curiosity.
Within the last few days, it’s been popping up all over blogs! Say hello to Maybelline New York The Nudes palette.
The Nudes palette contains 12 pearly, shimmery and matte eyeshadows in a sleek, plastic black case for only $9.99. At this time it can be found at Bed Bath and Beyond, but I don’t know when it’ll hit the drugstore.
For a drugstore product, these shadows rock! They’re all smooth and blend easily, and they have great pigmentation. I really only had small issues with 2 colors: The first pinkish white pearl shade – color #1 – takes a little longer to blend, but it’s such a cute hue and looks great in the inner corners of your eye, and the last black shade – color #12 – is not heavily pigmented. I need to layer and layer to get a nice, deep black. Other than that, I feel this is an amazing palette for only $10! None of the shades run chalky and you can create so many different looks with this beauty.
The backside of the palette contains 13 different ways you can mix & match shades to create custom eye looks. There’s also a link for how-tos, but I tried it today and it says “page not found.” Hopefully, they are working on it. [Link on back: www.maybelline.com/eyeshadow]
