Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipsticks are my new obsession! Although they are often sold out, right now Sephora has them all available, so I’m debating on whether or not to purchase more. My clicky-mouse fingers say yes, my wallet says it’s exhausted.
Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick is a long-wearing, full coverage lipstick that applies like a lip gloss, but dries to a smooth matte finish. It has Kat Von D’s signature black and silver cap, and comes with a doe foot applicator for an easy application.
Lolita is a neutral beige-pink color, described as a dusty rose. This is a great color I can wear to work without feeling like my lips are drawing too much attention.
I tested out Lolita before I headed off to a Gabriel Iglesias comedy show. I applied lip balm, then Lolita about 5:00pm. Before heading out to the show, I had a quick snack and a glass of water, and when I went to touch-up, I didn’t need to – my lipcolor did not budge or smudge. After a couple drinks at the show, my lips started to feel dry, so I applied balm over Lolita around 9:30pm and had no problems for the rest of the night. By the time I got home, around 12:30 – 1:00am, my lips still had full coverage and no fading, but the lines in my lips were very, very defined. I have a ton of lip ridges, so this was no surprise to me.
All in all – I’m very happy with Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick’s performance. It held up all night through drinking and laughing, and I’m sure it would’ve lasted several hours more if I didn’t wash it off. Sure, the ridges in my lips were awfully apparent, but when using a matte lipstick, I expect that more.
One thing I do have to note – this color is pretty in the daytime or in rooms with lots of light, but in the dark evening or in a room with extremely low light, it appears brown. Chola brown. I don’t do brown lips, so I will only be using this in the day.
I can’t wait to try other shades to see if they hold up the same way, like the colors L.U.V. and Berlin.
