I thought I was satisfied with the way I washed my face before getting the Foreo Luna. I used a manual soft facial cleansing brush, and felt like it did the trick. I didn’t use it everyday, though. Even though the bristles were soft, it was just too harsh on my skin using it everyday. I don’t even have sensitive skin! I was never interested in any battery-powered face tool, but now I wish I had gotten this much sooner.
Foreo Luna is a facial cleansing device and anti-aging device in one system. It is available in 3 models: Sensitive/Normal, Combination, and Ultra-Sensitive skin. I chose the blue combination model considering my face is exactly that: combination skin.
The Luna is made of extra-gentle silicone, so it doesn’t feel abrasive on the skin and is soft enough for everyday, twice a day usage. The rounded silicone brush feels smooth and very relaxing on your skin. There is also no need to change brush heads on the Luna. The silicone bristles are “nonporous to resist bacteria buildup, making it up to 35x more hygienic than standard sonic-cleansing brushes.” I can be a germ freak sometimes, so knowing that this device resists bacteria buildup makes my germaphobe side very happy.
The back side of the Luna has an anti-aging surface that, when used at a lower-frequency, lessens the appearance of wrinkles and expression lines. I use it at the regular frequency for cleansing and change to the low for anti-aging.
There are up to 8,000 pulsations per minute on this little device to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. The Luna gives you a deep clean feeling after every use, without the harshness of daily deep cleaning from other cleansing tools.
This device is ahhhhmazing! It only takes two minutes to clean your face, or 4 minutes per day if you use it twice a day. I only use this at night right now, for no other reason than that’s all I want to use it. Every time I use my Luna, my face feels ridiculously clean and thoroughly washed, but not stripped. I don’t need to use any special cleansers, and it works great with my current one.
It did feel strange the first time I used it. 8,000 pulsations per minute is very fast, but the silicone bristles are still extremely gentle. After trying this once, there is no doubt the Luna really stimulates and revives skin.
I have been using the Luna for almost 3 weeks now and have only charged it one time – the first time. According to Foreo, you can get up to 450 cleanses with one charge!
Foreo says the Luna “…leaves the skin looking naturally beautiful with a healthy-looking glow,” and I have to agree. I don’t know how much the anti-aging side has made a difference in my skin yet, but I can tell that this fab device makes my skin glow more than it has in a long time. I never had many breakouts, but they are considerably reduced now that my face is Luna clean.
Is it worth the $199 price tag? I think that is up to you. But considering the Luna does NOT need replacement heads, works for even ultra-sensitive faces, and makes your skin feel simply amazing, the one-time $199 price doesn’t seem so harsh.
