I stopped by Ulta last week and picked up a couple goodies. The first being Covergirl truMAGIC Skin Perfector Mattifier.
truMAGIC Skin Perfector is an oil-free, colorless primer to help control shine. It’s non-greasy, doesn’t clog pores and works with all skin-types. It starts off like a balm, but after application finishes with a smooth, velvet-like powder texture. It also claims to help blur your skin imperfections, which I noticed right away on my larger pores. My skin definitely looked better after I applied foundation.
Apply it under makeup like a normal primer, or dab it on your face over makeup throughout the day for touch-ups.
I’ve been using this for a few days, and Skin Perfecting Balm helps my skin stay matte during my work day. It keeps my oiliness at bay for several hours, but I do have to blot my face once or twice before my day ends, although the oiliness is much less pronounced when I do. My skin is super oily, so blotting lightly once or twice is a good thing. I also like the fact I can use this over my makeup without disrupting it for a quick touch-up.
The packaging itself is very bulk, but lightweight. The only place to put the sponge is on top of the product, but I wish there was another compartment so my sponge didn’t just sit on the balm.
Overall, this is a great drug-store primer that I would probably buy again!
