On Black Friday, one of the deals I purchased was a half-price BeautyCon BFF Box. I have seen tons of photos of this beauty & fashion box on Instagram, so I really wanted to try this box out. 50% off was a worthwhile deal to me!
I got my box (more on that below), and was pretty pleased with the contents for $14.50 + shipping. I set a reminder for myself to cancel my subscription before I got charged for the winter box, and of course I forgot. That is what subscription companies bank on – forgetting to cancel!
I wasn’t upset I forgot to cancel, though. I loved the fall box, so I expected to love the winter Bethany Mota curated box.
The fall box was awesome! Almost everything in the fall box I can, will or have used.
The ColourPop lippies in LBB were amazing. They are bold but beautiful.
I crushed hard on the included jewelry. They are Beautycon branded and costume, but very pretty. The Beautycon branded scarf was a fun pattern, but I was not a fan of the branded floral makeup bag or Glam Grooves earbuds.
The POP Beauty Kajal Pen in Inky Purple was perfect for fall and slides right into winter.
The sample of Benefit They’re Real Mascara is something I already have and will go to a friend.
The SkinFix Hand Repair Cream is super soothing. It’s a little greasy, but that feeling wears away pretty quickly.
I threw the hair brush in my travel bag since it’s small and perfect for overnight trips.
The Maybelline Baby Lips lipgloss is a nice neutral color that I pair over my work-friendly lipsticks.
Overall, it was a pretty awesome box.
The winter box was just ok. It had some great products, but nothing that really dazzled, except for the Minnie Mouse flash tats. Even though everything in this box is something I can use, too, it didn’t live up to the fall box for me. The fall box won my heart.
It included a pair of Minnie Mouse ears, which were cute, but I have the exact same pair from Halloween. Plus, they were bent and I am having a hard time getting them to stand up straight like these ears should. I do love the Minnie Mouse flash tattoos. Adorable!
I have the same Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama mascara in waterproof, so this non-waterproof formula will go to my niece.
I’m excited to try the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color, I just wish it was a different shade.
My Colourpop highlighter was broken, which is a bummer. Hopefully I can get that corrected and have them send me a new highlighter.
Soap and Glory Hand Food hydrating cream is my favorite lotion of all. OF ALL! So I’m always happy to have a purse-friendly backup.
I’ve tried several Murad products that I love, but never this Murad Hydrating Toner. Hopefully it will be another love.
Garnier is a hit or miss for me. Some products work great, while others just don’t. But the Garnier Fructis Root Amp root lifting spray mousse sounds promising. The fact that it is a spray mousse gets me excited!
I’m not much of a white polish wearer, but I will be using Essie Nail Color in Marshmallow underneath other shades to make them brighter.
The included coupons do nothing for me. If they were gift certificates, maybe, but they were coupons. I can probably use the Nike coupon since I need new sneakers, but the $10 off $50 at Anthropologie coupon is super meh.
The Beautycon branded Goal Digger Notebook is pretty cute. Notebooks are always welcome.
Even though the winter box was just ok, I’m probably going to stay subscribed. It was good enough to keep my interest. =P These boxes are quarterly, and $29 + shipping every 3 months isn’t bad. Besides, I love (reasonably priced) surprises!
Which box did you like more? Some of my friends love the winter box more than the fall. I love to hear different opinions!
