Allure Beauty Box – July 2015

allure box july 2015

I just received my new July Allure Beauty Box. I stopped subscribing to this box while it was still the Allure Sample Society box. Now that it is an Allure stand-alone, I am hoping for a better selection of products. Each month, Allure sends at least five of their editors’ favorite beauty products from major brands and innovative newcomers that they deem the best of the best, according to Allure. It sounds promising.

Opening my box, I wasn’t too thrilled with the contents. Now, it’s not a horrible box. There are some great things in here. But overall, it definitely is not in my favorites. I might cancel now and resub later if I see the products in the August box are better.

Let’s see what’s inside:

Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray sample
This is simply ok. I love Oscar Blandi’s products, but I now have a fully stocked collection of sample sized products.

Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Spray with Rosemary sample
I am overjoyed about this sample! It is on the small side, but it’s large enough to get a few good uses. It primes, sets and soaks up oil AND has an SPF of 50, so this product screams try me!

Bumble & Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer sample
I have yet to try this, even though this is my 3rd sample of this product. Needless to say, I was not elated to receive it.

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Infinite Volume Mascara sample
This mascara sounds intriguing: A 10-hour wear, high-performance mascara that stretches lashes for maximum length and volume. Because it doesn’t say waterproof, I am going to pass this along to a friend.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Serum sample
This I like. I think I can get a week’s worth out of this little bottle, and if I like how it feels, I might pick up a larger bottle.

Invisibobble the Traceless Hair Ring
I’ve seen this new hair tie in many boxes, so I’m excited to try it. I also grabbed one during Cosmoprof North America because it looks attractive. I only wear my hair up at home, but if I have to go somewhere, I hate the dent hair ties leave in my hair. I’m hopeful for this baby.
