I don’t usually review my subscription boxes on my blog, except for Influenster because it’s one of the requested tasks. I just share my goodies via social media. Because my last 2 Birchboxes have been so different, I thought I would share my thoughts on them beyond Instagram and Facebook.
I re-subscribed for Birchbox late July hoping to get in on the Laqa & Co lippie. July’s box was fantastic! Every product in the box I received was awesome, especially my reason for joining: Laqa & Co Lip Lube. The Balance Me Wonder Eye Cream and Real Chemistry 3-Minute Peel are also real champs in my book.
This is one of the best boxes I have ever received!
From a high for July, I received a less than stellar August box. It wasn’t a terrible box, I just don’t get excited for shampoos and lotions. I got to choose one of the samples in the box, and selected Laura Gellar eyeshadow. Her products rock. I opened the rest of the products without excitement. The Neil George shampoo & conditioner will go in my travel bag, so that was fine, and I tossed the Harvey Prince body cream in my bag. I’ll hopefully try out the revitalizing mask soon.
Am I going to stop my Birchbox subscriptions? Probably not. The draw of a $10 Birchbox or ipsy subscription box is the mystery. You never know exactly what you’re going to get. Some months are winners and some months are not that great.
If I do cancel, it will be because I’ve gone a little overboard with makeup shopping these last few months. I’ve gotten swag bags from events, received review products and have done some major damage at Ulta and Sephora. So if I cancel, it’s because my counter top needs a break before it actually breaks.
